Green Team

Lincoln Cares!

Earth Week
  • Lincoln honors Earth Day every year with an entire week of activities, all assisted by the student Green Team.  By celebrating Mother Earth and learning about ways we can all help live more sustainably, waste less and recycle more, we instill values of caring for our environment.

Student Green Team
  • Student Green Team is a lunch-time club open to all upper-graders.  Students learn about their impact on the environment and how they can make a difference in a fun, hands-on format.  Meetings are monthly on Wednesdays.

Recycling Programs

Be Green and Help Lincoln earn money!

  • Cartridges for Kids – Recycle your used printer ink and toner cartridges and help Lincoln earn money! There is a drop-off box in the school workroom. See the flyer for details.

  • Paper Recycling – We recycle paper and light cardboard with paper recycling bins in each classroom and teacher workroom.

  • Lunchtime Recycling – Students are taught to sort their lunch waste to recycle clean lunch trays and paper bags, recyclable plastic beverage containers, aluminum cans and fruit and vegetable scraps for composting. Lincoln encourages all students to help reduce food waste by eating what they have and saving leftover food for an afternoon snack.
