Support Our Camp Pendleton Troops and Their Children. Buy a Phone Card!
Five years ago, Lincoln adopted a school on the Marine Corps Base at Camp Pendleton. San Onofre School is an elementary school of about 650 children, many of whom have parents deployed in Iraq. Lincoln’s aim has been to give positive and happy support to children at our Marine Base in Camp Pendleton. In the spirit of the upcoming season, Lincoln is sponsoring a holiday phone card drive for these families. $10 will buy 100 minutes of phone time enabling these children to keep in touch with their parents serving our country who may need some holiday cheer. Our Lincoln community has continued the tradition to help provide moral support to the families at San Onofre Elementary School. We have collected over $1,500 to buy phone cards for the families to use to help them stay connected with their loved ones stationed overseas during the holidays.
Our Lincoln children will also have a chance to be involved. We will have supplies set up for the children to make Holiday cards for the San Onofre families at lunch recesses next week. The Holiday cards and donations for calling cards will be presented to the Principal of San Onofre School at their Holiday assembly this month.
Our efforts are greatly appreciated by the families at Camp Pendleton. It is a great way to give back and show support for our troops this holiday season. It's not too late to donate.
