PTA General Meeting Minutes
September 9, 2009
Meeting called to order: 12:20 pm
Introduction of PTA presidents and everyone in attendance.
May 6th meeting minutes approved.
Principal Jane Holm update: Welcome back and thank you for patience on first day of school with school loop. Next year will be better. We received great news that we did well in our test scores last year. New teachers and speech therapist were identified. Parents are welcome at the school. Pam at the front office is a great resource. Anything we want approved to be sent out needs to go through her.
Flyers and notices that go out through school loop need to be seen by Pam.
Duy the custodian is another great resource but please put things in writing for him.
Highlights of the parent survey from last year will be in the Lincoln Log and online.
President Obama’s speech will be shown in the classroom depending on grade level.
Cynthia Straussman discussed Mothers Advocating Prevention program.
President Suzanne Woods update: Thank you to all of the people attending.
Review of the names of the PTA V.P.’s and who reports to them. Please check black box in the PTA lounge for mail.
President Lisa Pearson update: We are working on filling Spirit Run Chair and Calypso Chair. Discussion about how important these positions are to the school.
Treasurer Sue Fritts update: Sue presented everyone with 3 handouts
1.Review of Budget from 2008 to 2009. Motion by Sue to ratify last years budget. 2nd Carolyn motion approved
2.Review of Lincoln PTA budget from 2009 to 2010, changes made to carry forward amount and enrichment amounts in 4th and 6th grades. Motion to approve budget Bretta, 2nd Leslie motion approved
3.Review of current analysis of financial reports Motion to approve PTA treasurer report Portia, Dana 2nd motion approved
TLC Update by Bretta Weimann and Carolyn Hurray: TLC is just getting started they will report more next month.
Vice President of Communications Dandy O’Shea update: Thank you to Robin Nasser for working on the directory. Your membership forms/directory info will be going home in the backpacks.
PTA/Teacher liaison Carol Perkins update: Carol introduced herself. If anyone has any questions or would like her to update the teachers with any information please let her know.
Nutrition Coordinator Linda Alva update: Produce cart will begin again next week.
Healthy recipes are included in the Lincoln Log. She is interested in starting an after school fitness program including children’s pilates.
Motion was made by Susan Thabit to continue the after school art program. 2nd Portia motion approved
